Final Fantasy

I finally beat Final Fantasy X on my PS2. It took over 45 hours of game play, but I did it!

Now, before you you cast aside this blog entry you have to give it a chance. Final Fantasy is of the game type, Role Playing. At first I did not see the excitement in such a game. Even when my friend Ian tried to sell me on the game with his description, "well you move around the world and learn skills and battle bosses", I was not sold! What a lame description, yet it's so correct. However, it's not as dull as it sounds. What gets you is the story and the characters. It's almost like you're watching a movie you have control over. I know I can't sell you on the idea of such a game, if you've never played, over one entry. All I'm saying is, give RPGs a chance. I'm hooked now. My NHL 2007 and Fifa World Cup haven't seen much action since I started playing FFX. I'm actually so hooked now that I've bought Final Fantasy X-2, XII and Dragon Quest VIII.

I was quite pleased to discover that Dragon Quest is actually the Dragon Warrior franchise from my youth. Apparently, at Dragon Warrior V they changed to Dragon Quest. I remember playing Dragon Warrior on my old Nintendo box when I was probably 12 or 13 and thinking this was the greatest game ever! I guess RPG is in my blood.

If you have a gaming system or even a computer, give RPGs a chance. Shenan I take back all my mocking of you with World of Warcraft!

Dude, I know what you mean! I used to hate them, and to tell you the truth I still don't go out of my way to aquire them, but man...I usually find that the motion makes me a bit sick at first getting used to the controls and the new level of 3D smoothness with new games (I'm from the 2D Nintendo generation) but afterwards I'm hooked! This game I have for my Dreamcast called Omikron: Nomad Soul (damn you Sega!!!) http://omikrongame.blogspot.com/

was wicked. And the Bowie cameos are cool too...and the fact that after playing the game for five minutes my character was...uh, ahem, having sex.

Actually they've always been Dragon Quest. They were Dragon Quest in Japan and got renamed to Dragon Warrior when they came to the states for whatever reason.
